APR Workshop on Environment Education in Scouting


 

The World Organization of the Scout Movement/Asia-Pacific Region in collaboration with Scouts of China is organizing the APR Workshop on Environment Education in Scouting on 3-6 June 2013. The workshop will be held in Taiwan that is well known for its environmental conservation efforts.
Aim of the Workshop
The aim of the workshop is to stimulate and bring the Scout leaders together to exchange ideas on environmental education and foster new working knowledge for the implementation of the World Scout Environmental Program (WSEP).

Objectives
• Review the work undertaken among the NSO's in implementing the WSEP
• Enhance the ability of NSOs to provide sustainable and comprehensive environmental education program by implementing the World Scout Environmental Program at national and local/community level
• To help the NSOs in gaining variety of experiences and share understanding of the environment education activities undertaken among NSO's

Theme
The theme of the workshop is "Scouts accountability to environment ". This accountability is aimed at conservation, protection, promotion and sustainability of nature through environmental education.

Venue
FongGuangShan Monastery, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Fee
USD150.00, which will cover local transportation, food and accommodation for five nights, workshop documents, workshop souvenirs and educational tour. Participants may extend their stay on their own expenses.

Eligibility
Key leaders at national level from NSOs in the Asia-Pacific Region are eligible to apply. Full time executives responsible for community Scouting and environmental program are also welcomed.
